Gathering of the travel writer's (Penulis Pengelana) community

It has always been extremely fun being around these people. chit chat, making the same old jokes and still laughing at them out loud.

This time is the fasting break gathering. It's Ramadhan, the fasting month. Many people use this Ramadhan to do gathering with their community or just close friends during the fasting break.

As for us PENA, we actually have traveled to Cibodas for the so called Echa's farewell. I guess that was not a farewell. That was only us that wanted to travel together again. The trip to Cibodas was only an excuse hahaha.
We love each other so much that is why we always want to meet each other. I guess the chemistry among us is quite big.

One of our PENA friends has a small resto or let's just say warung. Warung Soto. We could eat as much as we like and it's all for free hahaha. Lucky us.

Sometimes we talk about our traveling plans but most of the times we make fun of the others or sometimes we try to match the singles. Lately I have always been the victim. not good people not good hahaha.

We still love to travel but no articles nowadays hahaha.

PS: I dont own the copyrights of these fotos :-). The pictures belong to Echa, Mel, and mbak Didith.

Echa's farewell gathering

Echa, my dearest frriend and one of the founders of Penulis Pengelana is going to Tokyo to take her master degree. She will leave in September but since mid July will be the fasting month and in August is the Eid mubarak, so we decided to make this farewell gathering a bit earlier than her departure.

The trip to Cibodas National Park and from Cibodas to Jakarta were hell. It took us almost 5 hours to Cibodas and 7 hours from Cibodas to go back to Jakarta.

Fortunately we had so much fun in Cibodas.

the trek canopy trail was great. Echa works for the ministry of forestry so we had the privilege to experience the canopy trail which is actually only for researchers hehehe.

From the canopy, some friends went to Cibodas botanical garden and some including me went to the Cibeureum waterfall. Same name as the waterfall in sukabumi but different waterfall.

The trek was a lot easier. It took us only 1.5 hours to go there.

Every time I did the trekking I could not imagine that I could do the trekking. Back then I was against walking running and trekking. I am glad with my healthy life now as it makes me stronger and healthier.

All photos are taken by Echa.

Monique Smit - Blijf je vanavond

some people say it's cheesy but I like happy songs :-D. Life is not good sometimes that is why we should listen to happy tones. To boost up our mood.

Leanne Mitchell - 'Run To You' - The Voice UK

Leanne sings PUURFECT

I like the song. it's like the wolf song. I wanna run to youuuuuu huu huuu :-D

Bogor Botanical Garden and Cibeureum waterfall

So these friends of mine are people who have been living in Jakarta for more than 10 years and Bogor is only 1 hour from Jakarta. These people have never visited the Bogor botanical garden before. What a shame.

Fortunately, the sky was very bright so we could enjoy the beautiful scenery at this botanical garden. The only bad thing was that it was way too crowded.

Pictures were taken by my dearest friend, Echa, a real Bogor inhabitant :-) Thanks jaaa echa :-)

The trip to the waterfall was also great. Kustin didn't join the trip she was sick and she'd better stay in bed to prepare for the rafting trip. Ian and Muqthi joined only for the rafting trip.

It took us 2 hours to the waterfall and 1.5 hour to go back. the track was a bit hard for those who never did any jungle trekking but it was all worth it after we saw the waterfall. I would definitely go back there and take new friends to go there. Next time swimming under the waterfall :-).

5 minutes after we rested in a small warong, it was raining so hard. Lucky us. I was so happy because it means that the rafting that we would do the next day would be more adventurous since the water volume of the river would go up.

so more jungle trekking and more rafting please :-)

Indonesia is not for sissies

The opening remark for this video is "Indonesia is not for sissies. Chasing the Komodo dragon: Series trailer"

What a tag line hahaha. it is exaggerating for sure coz nowadays there are more and more sissies here in Indonesia hahaha

Rafting at Citarik

the last 2 weekends were awesome. Last weekend, experienced the cave tubing at Goa Pindul, Jogja and caught the sunrise at Borobudur temple, well it was cloudy haha and this weekend done 4 hours rafting grade 3 down the Citarik river, Sukabumi. We passed 35 bouncy yet relatively safe rapids, well a friend plunged into the river twice haha :-). It was a wicked fun weekend.

Bali May 2012

Originally we wanted to go to the West Bali National Park but my dad was sick so we canceled the plan to the national park. (I still have a dream to visit the Bali national park).

We just went to Ubud, visited the ARMA museum, hopped to the beach (I forgot which beach hahaha) and enjoyed the Kecak dance in Uluwatu. And of course we tried great food while we were there. Vacation is not vacation if we don't taste the local food.
