The Curse of the Golden Flower

The story is about the secrets in the royal family. Everybody in the palace had his own darkest secret. The empress (Gong Li) had an affair with her stepson. His stepson then had an affair with daughter of the palace's doctor whose actually the daughter of the emperor (Chow Yun Fat) with his first wife. The emperor knew about the affair, then he decided to kill the empress by putting poison in the empress drinks everyday. The theme is simple, about affairs. But the director Zhang Yimou choose made a really beautiful visualization to wrap that. Everything is spectacular. Visually it is a stunning film. The dresses ( especially the outfit of the ladies, guys must love them :-)), the field of chrysanthemum flowers, the blood of the soldiers, the sparkling gold encrusted palace. Characters battles between Chow Yun Fat and Gong Li. I love them both. In the beginning it was a little bit boring but as soon as you found the action reaction chains, you'll find it quite entertaining. But Its a must see film. I hope it will win the best foreign film in the academy awards.

The Last Kiss

The film is about 30 years old Michael who is going to marry his pregnant girlfriend Jenna. Michael's life is like being written in a book. His life is on the right track, kind of a boring life. One day came, a hot 19 years old Kim (this scene was very unlogic) that will bring surprises in Michael's life. Michael then got into an affair.
Meanwhile Izzy, Michael's friend, decided to end his marriage coz he's missing the romance of marriage life. Another Michaels friend, Chris, refused to a close relationship. Another relationship issue is Jenna's parents whose having their own issues after 30 years marriage.
The film is about growing pains and choices we have to make as adult. To be honest this film is freaking me out. You gasped when you finished this film :-). I don't want my marriage to be ended like some of the characters in the film. Again, I would say that if u believe in something or someone you have to fight for it :-). Don't just give up if obstacles are in front of you. And life is about choices. But how can I know that I am making the right choice? Tough question....pffuuuiihh
